The river below flows freely, always changing as the spring rains and melting snows add to it. It is energy flowing. And there is a quiet beautiful spring-fed pond next to the river, surrounded by luscious green tall grasses, shrubs, and trees.
Here is home to many deer, coyotes, geese, ducks, pelicans, trout, elk, bear, eagles, hawks, mountain bluebirds, wolves, and many more including to my delight, a moose.
I’ve seen her three times now. The first time, she appeared was very early spring. She was standing quietly in the pond foraging the tender new grasses. Her coat, like that of the many four-legged residents here at that time of the year… scratchy and unkempt. This time she appeared as a light rain began to fall, foraging in the tall grass by the pond. Her wet coat matted down by the rain, her belly is big, and soon she will give birth to her calf.
New life. Newly created. New beauty.
